Proiectul a condus la formularea si brevetarea unei compozitii naturale sinergice, sub forma de hidrogel, pe baza de compusi marini de natura proteica si polizaharidica, suplimentata cu o nanoemulsie din componente de origine vegetala si destinata tratamentului ranilor cronice. Asocierea gelatinei obtinuta din deseuri de piele de peste (Dicentrarchus labrax) cu polizaharidele extrase din alge verzi (Cladophora vagabunda) si cu nanoemulsia de pelin (Artemisia absinthium) a condus la obtinerea unui nou hidrogel multifunctional cu efect direct asupra proceselor implicate in cronicizarea ranilor. Modelele experimentale propuse au demonstrat eficienta hidrogelului impotriva raspunsului inflamator excesiv, supraproductiei de metaloproteinaze matriceale si infectiilor persistente, procese responsabile de intarzierea procesului de vindecare normal la nivelul pielii.
